The designer had been musing about the hat as a sculpture. For her, it was all about forms and volumes emerging from the relations between fullness and emptiness – the main characteristics of the hat itself as a shape. The headpiece constructions and shapes came to life by modelling volume and relief of the hat using various traditional as well as authentic techniques.
